Research Projects and Collaborations
Most of my actual work consists in joint projects with Paul Égré, my Turin colleague Lorenzo Rossi and my former PhD student Giuliano Rosella on the semantics, logic and probability of conditionals. Eventually we also want to write a book on the topic.
Until recently, I was the Principal Investigator of the PRIN Project "From Models to Decisions" (2019--23). This is a collaborative project in philosophy of science funded by the Italian Ministry for University in Research. The other PIs are Gustavo Cevolani (IMT School for Advanced Studies, Lucca), Carlo Martini (San Raffaele University) and Giovanni Valente (Polytechnical University Milan).
Not too long ago, I was PI of the ERC Starting Grant project "Making Scientific inferences More Objective" (2015--2021). The project investigates various aspects of objectivity in scientific inference and tries to improve the objectivity of statistical, causal and explanatory inferences. Click here for a short project description.
In September 2021, together with my colleague Vincenzo Crupi, I headed the local organizing committee of the EPSA21 Conference.
