Current Research Projects

Most research I have done in recent years is related to the ERC Starting Grant project "Making Scientific inferences More Objective" (2015--2021). The project investigates various aspects of the concept of objectivity in scientific inference, and it tries to improve the objectivity of statistical, causal and explanatory inferences. Click here for a short project description.

At the moment, I am the Principal Investigator of the PRIN Project "From Models to Decisions" (2019--22). This is a collaborative project in philosophy of science funded by the Italian Ministry for University in Research. The other PIs are Gustavo Cevolani (IMT School for Advanced Studies, Lucca), Carlo Martini (San Raffaele University) and Giovanni Valente (Polytechnical University Milan).

I am also collaborating with Paul Égré, my Turin colleague Lorenzo Rossi and my PhD student Giuliano Rosella on various projects on the semantics and probability of conditionals. Eventually we also want to write a book on the topic.
